Why Choose This Service?
I've determined that people truly want a demonstrated, reliable, competent expert to take care of their tree and horticultural needs. Someone who can see the big picture and address your specific problems as they arise. Truely answer your questions.

A business that puts you the valued client first and has your best interest at heart. This is better described like having a personal consultant whose job it is to enhance your quality of life by providing solutions to the needs of your lawn and landscape. These solutions protect your landscape investment and improve the aesthetics and value of your property.

Looking for a lawn or tree and shrub care program? High quality professional products are selected and applied. Cheap low quality products don’t produce quality results. Fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides are numerous. Professional products provide greater benefits that stand out and make a difference.

Call (205) 854-3676 today to set up a landscape, lawn, or tree consultation.

I'm a horticulturalist and arborist with over 17 years of experience in this industry. I spent ten years and two days as a departmental supervisor for the City of Homewood Landscape Department.  This Department no longer exist as of August 5, 2009. I made all the everyday decisions for the department that included the horticultural management and maintenance of designated landscape properties and athletic fields (14) within the city. In January 2008; I was honored as the "City Employee of the Year." In February 2010 I resigned from the City of Homewood; 6 months after the Landscape Department merged with the Park and Recreation Department.

After exiting the U.S. Navy (1990-1994) with an Honorable Discharge; I attended a local 2 year college for horticulture. I was distinguished as the "Most Outstanding Student in Horticulture" and had a 3.65 g.p.a.. I'm  certified by the state of Alabama in Ornamental and Turf Pest Control (OTPS), Setting of Landscape Plants (SLP), and Landscape Design (LD). I'm also a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture #SO-5270A. I have extensive experience in plant selection, planting, and the proper pruning of ornamental tree and shrubs. I've been evaluating trees for hazardous conditions since 2004.

Prior to accepting the departmental supervisor position for the City of Homewood; I worked for over two years for the Hoover Board of Education managing their landscape properties and athletic fields. In addition; I worked for (2) other businesses in the lawn care industry.

Virginia Cooperative Extension: The Value of Landscaping
Clean air to breath. 2,500 square feet of turf absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and releases enough oxygen for a
family of four to breathe.(1)
Rainfall retention. A healthy, sodded lawn absorbs rainfall 6 times more effectively than a wheat field and 4 times better than a hay field.(2)
(1)-Turfgrass Resource Center: Our Precious Plane
(2)-Environmental Protection Agency: “Greenscaping, The Easy Way to a Greener, Healthier Yard.”

Water quality protection Proper landscaping reduces nitrate leaching from the soil into the water supply and reduces surface water runoff, keeping phosphorus and other pollutants out of our waterways and preventing septic system overload.
Cooler summer days. Lawns will be 30 degrees cooler than asphalt and 14 degrees cooler than bare soil in the heat of summer.(3)
